Terms of Service

Effective date: August 1, 2026

1. Who we are

My Voice Matters (the "Platform") is a campaign-technology vendor that provides website, communications, and data tools to political candidates and campaign committees ("Subscribers"). We are not a political committee, party, or advocacy organization, and we do not endorse any candidate or cause.

2. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization or campaign committee, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.

3. Subscriber responsibilities

  • Legal compliance. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Platform complies with all applicable campaign-finance laws, including but not limited to FPPC regulations (California), FEC rules (federal races), and equivalent state-level requirements. The Platform does not provide legal advice.
  • Disclosure accuracy. You must enter accurate committee information (name, ID number, treasurer) before publishing your site. The Platform does not verify the accuracy of legal disclosures you provide.
  • Content. You are responsible for all content published on your campaign site, including biographical information, policy positions, endorsement listings, and donor communications.
  • Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Platform to:

  • Publish false or misleading statements about any candidate or official.
  • Collect contributions without the legally required disclosures in place.
  • Impersonate another candidate, committee, or public figure.
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or court order.
  • Transmit spam, malware, or any harmful code.

5. Payment and billing

Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance. Certain features (AI transcription, outreach email delivery) carry additional per-use charges billed at cost. All charges are non-refundable except where required by law. We reserve the right to suspend access for non-payment.

6. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Platform. By publishing content through the Platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and display that content solely to operate the service. We retain all rights to the Platform software, design, and underlying infrastructure.

7. Termination

Either party may terminate a subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your site is taken offline and your data is retained for 30 days before deletion, during which time you may request an export.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including any campaign-finance penalties resulting from inaccurate disclosures.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify Subscribers of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
